I just bought the Beretta a400 Xtreme plus brand new. When I try to screw on the forend cap, it does not make the click sound like I see in YouTube videos. It only turns for about 25 degrees and does not feel very tight. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

There is no clicking like other shotguns. Mine is kinda hard to turn but it only turns a quarter turn or so and she's locked in tight.
Thanks! How many degrees is that?

Like if I take the forend arm off, it will turn like 45 degrees but if I put the forend arm on, then it will only turn like 25 degrees. And it does not feel very tight. like just a bit of force will make it turn and come off

The b lock system of the new caps is a 1/4 turn to put it on or off. Saves time over cranking the older style around and around
Yeah, I got that part. But I am having a super hard time trying to just do the 1/4 turn to turn it into place. Like I have to use a great amount of force and I feel like I am doing something wrong

Make sure the barrel is fully seated in the receiver. Place the butt on the floor(unloaded obviously) grab the forearm and push down toward the floor while turning the cap on. I bought a new Binelli and the forend was tight the first few times I reassembled after cleaning.

Thanks! Yeah, it is super tight and I am having a difficult time turn it all the way in

Lithium grease or gun oil on the “fast” threads and lock detent might help too. Don’t remember any issues with it when I owned my Xtreme + so possibly something is wrong with yours? Good luck with it!

Thanks! I will try that! Also might be that I am too weak and lack the necessary grip strength lol
