I just bought An AL 390 and I don't really understand how the Magazine Auto cut off works,It has a bolt lock on the left side of reciever(I can fiqure that out)but if you put two shells in the Mag tube then push the mag release silver button right side of reciever .

Thats when things go wrong I can play around with it(pull the bolt back chamber a shell)hand eject the shell and another will come over the loading gate(chamber and hand eject)the last shell just stays in the Mag!

I know it's because I am ignorant of how this shot-gun works,I got it with 3 tubes and tube wrentch(no papers or manual or box)but it appears LNIB!

What am I doing wrong(aside from loading live rounds, and hand ejecting them)?

Anybody got any help for me? It's not the semi hump back,it's a round back,it's a little thicker in the stock than I'm used to(not as well fitting as my 1100's)but appears to be a well made gun!

Thanks Anyone?

They are designed to do this so you can clear the chamber while crossing an obstacle or whatever. If you want to empty the gun there is a little button at the back of the shell lifter. Press it and the shell will go from the mag onto the lifter. This little button is also the way to lock the action back without using the lock back on the left side of the receiver.

Thanks Claybuster so this is not a three shot gun,but a two shoter with one extra in the magazine? I would like to think I could load one into the chamber put two in the magazine and fire all three!

Quess I'm missing something.I fiqured out what the little tooth pick sized pin on the rear the lifter does. quess I'm still not fiqureing it out yet!

Thanks again

No it will fire all three. Put two in the mag and one in the chamber and all three will fire if the gun is working correctly.

FYI, you can download a PDF version of the 390 manual from the Beretta International site.

Clay buster downloaded the manual, and if it ever comes up again the Beretta's unlike the A5,the mod 11,the 11-48 ,1100 or any other autos one might be used to the Beretta's trigger must be pulled and the hammer fall to activate the Mag Cut off release!

So hand activating the bolt will not get it done!

Thanks for your patence!
