Hi everyone,

I need some help, I'm looking into buying a used Beretta AL391 Urika 2 with a wood stock "Walnut". I've been trying to find out how they cost new, "when they were produced" and what "roughly" fair value would be for a used one. I know the gun is in GREAT condition, it comes with 5 chokes and the hard case.

It's a lot of money for me spend on a gun and would appreciate some help. I've tried to phone local gun stores, but no one has really been able to help me out. One store said new they sold for 1,700.00 and the other said 1,000. I gave both stores the exact details ect...I was wondering if anyone has bought one recently, or for that matter bought one new. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get, thanks a lot, shoot straight and shoot safe,

Graeme C.

What is the asking price on that used gun?

Edit: If I remember correctly the average price for a new field model was around $1500. The Sporting model sold for around $1700-1800.

Thank you for the reply,

the Gentleman wants 900.00, I just don't know how much of a deal it is...A guy from a local store said 900 was an "ok" price but then again he said brand new out of the box they retailed for 1,000 dollars...although, he kept saying the wrong name of the model and such which led me to believe he wasn't really listening to me, lol. The new models apparently start at a higher retail price than the 391's did a few years ago. Berettas appear to have many models similar to the gun which has been making difficult to gather information. Thank you for your time,

Graeme C.

900 in good condition is a steal. If it's a Ulrika 2 that's a great price in my opinion. New that gun is around $1600-1800 depending on from where...

Buy it and don't look back.

It's a good price. A friend of mine bought a demo 20 gauge for $1000 and an unfired 12 gauge Gold model with the Xrtra grain wood with a few handling marks for $1200. Very nice shotguns.

friend of mine bought a 20ga AL391 Urika 2 (sporting) from Dantes a few years back, new but got a deal because it got a ding on display, told me he paid $1400.

If I were in the market for a new semi I wouldn't think twice at $900.

It's quite a bit cheaper than the wood/blued model described by the OP.

Granted the action is exactly the same.

Yep. I don't mind wood stocks, but wouldn't be paying hundreds more to get them. IIRC, the full camo ones were $1195. Mine came with the hardcase and 5 chokes.

I paid $1,050 for mine in 2010 from my LGS. Synthetic, 28" smooth barrel, kick off and hard Beretta blue case, 5 optima chokes. He threw in a camo padded zipper case (probably a $55 value). $900 is a bargain. Its my workhorse hunting gun so I didnt want to be "babying" a wood stock out in the field.

Maybe. It was 2011. When did the A400 come out?

I can't remember to be honest. I think it would have been around 2009? Whatever year it was, they were selling no less than 5 different semi-auto shotguns...the A390, AL391, 3901, A391 Xtrema, A400, ES100 and I think they even had the UGB25 Exel. The A390 was phased out within a few months followed by the 3901, ES100, AL391, A391 Xtrema and more recently the A391 XtremaII . Oddly enough they resurrected the A390/AL391 action within a year or so and renamed it the A300 Outlander!

Hi there,

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I ended up flat out asking the guy how much he paid, he said $1,000.00+tax new a year ago "which Tax is high here in MB". I think $900 was an ok deal, not a steal, but fair.

I didn't grab it, but I'll sit back and think on it for now, I originally thought he had paid 1500 "or something like that..."and with that being said, I thought this could be an absolute steal of a deal that I would have to jump on immediately. I would like to thank everyone for their opinions, help and thoughts on the matter.

What is the purpose of the gun - hunting, trap, skeet, sporting clays?
What is the type of gun - Beretta makes trap, sporting, and hunting models in the Urika 2.

The trap version (it will say on the barrel) is the hardest to find. I would jump on it at that price.

What he paid for it is of little importance! $900 is a steal if that gun is in great shape like you said. If you hesitate too long, someone else will scoop it up and you'll have to spend a couple hundred more to find another one like it.

$900 is OK but there is plenty of guns out there in that price range, both new and used, that you may better suit your needs depending on what they are. It's probably a fairish price, but you're not stealing it my any means. Point is, buy it if it's the gun you really want, but don't just buy it because you think you're getting a good deal.
