I was considering a new waterfowler and I noticed SIR has the Beretta AL391 Urika Synthetic Semi Auto Shotgun on sale for $969. I have shot a few 391's and they seem to fit me really well. The SIR price seems like a really good price to me. Is there some sort of catch? No chokes, case, stock spacers or somethign like that? (The ad doesnt specify)
Anyways regardless of all that......has anyone tried one of these synthetic versions.
Is the stock of decent quality?
The raised gripping surface?? is it durable and easily cleaned or will it be tattered and black after a few seasons?
Its supposed to have some sort of anti-glare finish on it. How durable is this finsh on the metal?
Almost all the 391's I have shot were sporting/target models. I plan on using one in the wetlands not the trap field. Has anyone had any problem with feeding a 391 a steady diet of heavy field loads.
Most of my exposure to these guns has been during fair weather at a clay range. Has any one had any "duck weather" related failures to operate with these guns.
Thanks
