Beretta and CZ clones - experiences?

Hi,

Just wanted to check in if someone had some feedback on some of the clones available out there? Specifically the Girsan (Beretta 92) and the Tristar (CZ) compared to the originals. I could look at EE for the "originals" but would have to read some of the sticky's on the process.

I am fairly new to Pistols and started off with an FNS 9L and 22/45 and want to pick away at my wishlist as cash becomes available. Almost jumped on the FNS 40L deals as I do like the 9. I will note that I don't really have much of an opportunity to try/hold much due to my location and generally at the range I find myself the only one there. So just read, look at pictures to drool a bit and make a list.

Anyways, was looking at one of those or even try to find a Grand Power to give it a try, further on the list I have S&W revolver and some form of 1911.

I could probably sell you my 92fs if you like. It might even come out cheaper than the girsan. :)

I have a cZ75Compact and a Tristar C100. The cZ is well known quality pistol at a reasonable price. The C100 is well made and has been trouble free for a couple of years. IMHO the C100 is an excellent value and am thinking of buying another.

Girsan is made on tooling given to them by beretta, so it's extremely close to the real deal. I think these are even in use by turkish military?

Used by a few police/ armed forces over in Europe. I did a tonne of research before I bought my Girsan. They are a fantastic pistol, quality is top notch. I have handled them in store, my brother Girsan and am looking forward to picking mine up.

I originally wanted a 92FS until I found out about Girsan and I was sceptical until I actually got to hold one. I was thinking it would be a cheap copy, but as stated it is made with Beretta tooling and is almost an exact copy. One difference is the front of the grip it finger notched instead of flat and textured.

I have had my Girsan for over 2 years, and not one problem. Love it.

That's pretty ###y looking, looks like it holds up well.
