Hi, just put a down payment on an ARX 160 at my local gun shop. it is supposed to be here in 4-6 weeks. Was wondering if anyone on the forum has had any experience with them?

Wow!!!

Nobody because the gun is not available as a semi-auto carbine, handled and played with the full-auto rifle in Ottawa at CFSAC, spoke to the military & police sales rep and he said that the Beretta management has no plans for a commerical gun at this time.

Ummmm....no, no you didn't, and no, no it won't be.

Edit: CRAP! Gadget beat me to it. That's what I get for taking a leak before hitting "submit" :(

I put a down payment on one from "Wild West Gun Range" in West Edmonton Mall last week. The owner herself told me that she has a number of them on order and they should be here in 4-6 weeks. For all the know-it-alls on here who think they know everything, why don't you call there, 780 426-4866, and ask them for yourself!! Then you can be a real man and post an apology for calling me a liar.
I have been assured that they are a non-restricted rifle, as that is the only type I am looking for.

I haven't yet purchased a 5.7 as I am still not sure whether the ammo cost is worth the cost of having a specialty item. I am definitely still very intrigued in it though. I have sourced the ammo from two different people who have varying amounts of ammo for sale here in Canada, but it really does seem like it's going to be an issue if I buy the gun to get a steady supply.

LOL...OK noobie.....I'm not a "know it all"....more like a "Know full auto is a no-no", and "Know the ARX only comes one way" guy.

How about YOU call "Wild West", ask them to confirm that they are indeed bringing you in this full auto , and then YOU can be a real man and post an apology for insulting people who know better.

Wow.....

Maybe they'll bring me in that MP5 I want.......

I am pretty sure about the designation as we have talked on several occasions about the Benelli and the Beretta, so I sure hope that the info you guys have is wrong. I guess we'll see when they show up but maybe I'll call her again on Monday to confirm what we have discussed. It does say on my sales slip, "ARX 160' though. Now you guys have me worried!
I have looked at the MR1 at Milarm, they have one for 1800$, and it is ok but just didn't feel right to me. The sales guys there really spoke well of it and thought it was a fantastic gun though.

I will gladly apologize if the gun I have on order is not the ARX, but that is what she took my money on, so it is possible that we are both right.
I am now feeling a bit worried as I am no gun expert though and am just getting seriously into the sport and I am not pretending to know more then most of the people on here at all. I sure hope she knows something that is not general knowledge elsewhere yet.

Wow, 4200 plus posts for you! I am now guessing you have a really good idea what you are talking about as it seems you are pretty serious about this stuff.
It wouldn't be the first time a dealer was inncorrect about product. It still does seem a bit weird though as I have a buddy who also went down there and put a 500$ deposit on one as well. She told me that she is bringing 20 in and expects them to be all spoken for by the time they get here.
She is selling them for under 2000$. I am sorry but cannot tell you the exact figure as I bought the gun as part of a package deal along with a HK P30 LS which should be here next week, (so they say).

Well I am going to be quite pissed off if she took my deposit only to find out that she doesn't even know which guns she is bringing in.
I have seen and handled the MR1 and it is not for me. I guess that means I'll have to spend even more and default back to the Robinson Arms XCR that I was originally looking at. Too bad it's going to be approx 600$ more then the ARX.
