Looks pretty cool. The extractor that can be used as a tool is pretty neat. Too bad there probably won't be a civilian version.

This has too much polymers for my personal taste. At least the upper should be made of metal.
Why do you think that? They plastics they use in firearms aren't the same as the kind used in Happy Meal toys.

There is a civilian version of the ARX-160, but I'm wondering if it will ever make it to the Canadian market. It seems kind of like the love child of an ACR and SCAR16s. I've never been a big fan of Beretta's as I owned one a few years back, but being that we will probably not see the SCAR or ACR anytime soon this might not be a bad alternative.

The Beretta ARX is awesome. It has the ability to convert the charging handle from left to right with no tools in seconds. It can also change ejection from left to right with pressure from a bullet tip.

The barrel housing material will resist any temperature the barrel will reach without damage. The barrel can literally be glowing red hot and no damage will take place. Also the 40mm Bluetooth technology grenade launcher is awesome as well.

The ARX is currently produced in semi auto but it is not a semi auto only design. It is simply a full auto with some parts removed. The only agency it is issued to currently is the police in Mexico. Squad leaders have full auto and the rest have the semi.

In order for us to get it a market would need to be found for a true semi auto only version.

for me it looks too bulky and large, and well just plain ugly... but the rifle seems like a great design in terms of its function, and the ease that comes with the field stripping and cleaning of it.

Form aside, the function and weight alone make this a very attractive black rifle. As for the visual aspects - I like the look of it.

I hope Beretta do a civilian model that we can get up here.
