Beretta ARX-160

Hrrrmmm.... does it have enough unique features to NOT be an AR variant?

Typically Beretta = $$$$ Wonder how many millions they will want for it.

Will it be available in .308?

How many moving parts? Wonder if it's complicated enough to break on a regular basis.

Otherwise it's a very cool rifle!

The importer does not seem to be overly eagered in getting a CDN legal version - so it will be a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggg time.

Unfortunately, you're right. Many of these companies suffer from what I call "Colt 1989/90 Syndrome". If ya'all recall Colt stopped selling AR's to the civilian market to placate the anti gun crowd (and others) when some guy went on a shooting rampage in California (with an AK). This event was one of the catalysts to the Bush import ban and subsequent "assault rifle" ban.

Anyhow, the Bosses at Colt figured the big government contracts would keep them afloat---major fail there. They (and other gun companies) are so transfixed on the multi million contracts that they ignore the steady sales stream the civvy market gives them. A 14 million m-4 contract didn't go far when you have dozens/couple hundred employees to pay. It wasn't long before they had to go under bankruptcy protection, where the firm was almost lost for good.

They ended up selling to new owners who trashed the self-imposed sales ban, and voila, Colt is still with us:)
LESSON: sell your products (or civvy versions of your products) to the civvy market and diversify your sales base as a result. And what could be bad about increasing your market share????
