It looks about the same as an FS2000--and probably less than carrying handle sights on an AR. I like it because you don't have to use as high a mount for your optic.

I asked a guy at the Barretta military booth. He said he didn't know. Maybe something about the piston.

I asked him if the semi-auto only civilian version was anywhere close. He said he didn't know.

I asked if there were any military or security forces currently fielding the rifle. He said he didn't know.

So I definitely talked to the wrong guy to get anything useful from.

The only thing I got was this picture of me judging the rifle and the HAMR sight together. I wasn't a fan.

I think that is ugly. The hand rail in that picture is huge.. looks like your hand barely fits around it lol..

Next time talk to Spiros. He has fired the full auto version and has experience with the Bluetooth 40mm grenade launcher.

Yes there is a bluetooth compatible launcher attachment.

Ambidextrous controls.

Switch ejection on the fly from left to right with a push of a button for barricade or off hand shooting.

Switch charging handle from left to right by flipping it through the action.

Yeah... Those features make the gun so much less usable...

The word I got at the Beretta booth is that some machinery is currently being moved over from Italy to USA.
They say mid-year for civvy sales in the US, but we have all heard that before.

That's exactly my thought. I can pick it up and whine "that feels funny" but that doesn't mean jack unless I've carried it for a day or two and shot a few hundred rounds out of it.

Part of my personal frustration with Shot Show is you can only get a basic feel for anything there. You pick it up, and shoulder it, maybe change the mag a few times. But thats like 10% of testing how a firearm works and deciding if it will work for you.

I much prefer the idea of reviews and opinions based on extended use. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any independent parties who've used this rifle for any substantial amount of time.
