That’s a pretty rare thing to have happen regardless of make and cost. The ASE is as good a quality gun as you can get but stuff still happens. Sending it to beretta was probably the correct thing to do and I would expect them to do the repair correctly.

For an expensive gun like that, I would hope that Beretta makes things good at no cost to the owner.

Might be more common then we’d like to think happened to a buddy of mine on a high round count gun. I’ve personally had them leak oil for sometime before it stopped.

I’d suggest if you don’t get the answers you like from Stoeger call Cole’s gunsmith in Florida.

Leaking oil in that area for a while is not uncommon. There's a slight gap between the mono block and barrel set and if you get a bunch of oil in there it will take a while for it all to seep back out.

ASE 90’s of that time period were know for having rib separations, I repaired a few over the years
They had soft soldered barrels and mono bloc, they were mostly hand build, just needs to be put back together again.... properly

The new ones are silver soldered

Stoeger is getting themselves a real bad name for service, I wonder if there would be anything to gain from writing Beretta directly.
I've never dealt with Cole's but they do seem to be the go to for all things Beretta!

Update ,so Stoeger will have nothing to do with it.No repair sending it back(hopefully all there) Disappointed but not really surprised service from manufacturers is for the most part a thing of the past.Did some research on the gun and it does not have much of a round count.Less than 500 from me and couple thousand from the previous owner who said it was a back up for the guy he bought it from. It shows well and is not really beaten up so I can only surmrise it was a "Friday" gun.Will wait to see when it arrives but have been told that Coles is the guy to talk to.

Getting the gun into the US won't be easy.

There is a dealer in my area that also dropped Beretta because of poor service.

My last dealing with stoeger resulted in me having to get MasterCard to proceed with fraud charges before the issue being resolved. Some of the worst service I've ever experienced.
