This looks like an exciting new design....and ambidextrous too. Your thoughts?

I like all of the features of the Beretta but one. The long bolt travel out from the receiver which forces shooters to back their face off of stock. Not ideal for maintaining good focus for fast follow up shots fer me. I would like to try the BRX1 out though as it should be a well made unit.

That's a deal breaker for me.

Looks like an interesting rifle with many different features. Very fast operation, completely ambidextrous, able to easily swap barrels and many more. I don't know if the bolt travel is actually an issue, probably more dependent on shooter style. I would for sure like to try one out.

I find this to be pathetic junk, designed by a marketing team. If you can't live without a straight pull, there is R8

One thing I have noticed on most straightpull actions is the very long bolt. About the only exception to this is the Merkel. The disadvantage to the Merkel is it uses a type of camming action to the shorten the travel but you have very little leverage if you get a stuck case.

I tried it . It’s ok. I don’t like the feeling and the bolt racking is rough. I’d rather have a tikka if I am going for Value or a Blaser if I am going for no compromise but it feels like they will do well.

I'd go with an MRA Maverick meself. Better ergos and accessory options fer me. Keeping the bolt inside the receiver/buffer tube assembly is good.
