I have a Beretta 92-a1. It has been sitting in my safe for about a year now. I finally decided to take it to the range and fell in love with it.

Very accurate and It is tied for my affection with my 1911.

My question is how is a Beretta's quality compared to say a Sig and HK?

I use Sig and HK because most people think they make this finest mass produced pistols out there.

Matter of opinion i wouldnt trade my 92fs for any sig or hk ever
But you will get the guys that will swear their poison of choice. I cannot deny the qualtiy of the others but for me its beretta.

I have 2 Sig 226's with a 220 on the way, also an HK USP. Love them all. I've held a 92FS and like how it feels but have never fired one.

I love the versatility of the 226, can get a 22/9/40/357sig X-Change kit and have many calibers with one frame. Also it's the platform that fits me like a glove. Prices have come down on a Sig 226 with our strong dollar. Seen them as low as $879.

If you like Sig, you will also like HK. Very refined pistol. Just a joy to shoot at the range. They are also great if you are recoil sensitive, as they have a dual spring setup inside to reduce felt recoil. It works. I was against a polymer handgun until I tried the HK. Just love it! Many people rave about the HK 45 but I've yet to see one. The Mark 23 is just an absolute beast... saw one in Detroit, it's as big and looks as mean as a Desert Eagle.

Being both a Sig 1911, HK45 the Beretta 92A1 will be my next addition to my safe. If I had to be critical about the HK I would have to say that there are machining marks still visible on the under side of the slide. Which I didn't expect to see on a gun for its price and the trigger leaves a lot to be desired.

By comparison both my M&P's are void of any machining marks at half the price.

I said this before, of all the pistols I own Beretta, Sig's, CZ's. If I had to choose just one to entrust my life and the lives of my familly. It would be my Beretta M9. Never fails, never jams, eats everything and asks for more.

Everyone has different sized hands, trigger preferences, etc. My HK USP does have a really long double action trigger, in single action it's decent. Sig definitely has it beat on the base model and especially the SRT which is superior.

Fit and finish on my Sigs and HK are excellent. I've never had an issue with any fit/finish on any pistol I've owned, except for a GSG 1911 that the finish really wore down (common to that model).

After acquiring my Sig's and HK, I've seen fit to sell/trade my CZ75 & CZ97 as I like them better with fit and balance. I do admit, I could shoot quite well with my CZ75, but it's more of a comfort thing.

I've always wanted a 92FS, but it'll have to wait as I have other more important firearm purchases to make.

Beretta is definitely the best looking one esp. in Inox.

I had a USP.45, 3 P226's (black, two tone, and ST), P220ST as well as a few 92's and a 90two. Still have my first 92 Inox and will never sell it! Great pistol, accurate and extremely reliable. Great quality too. As it's cheaper than Sig or HK!

I have the Beretta, a sig 1911 carry, and an HK p7, and love all 3 of them, I also have an older hi power which is right up there too.

I've got a 92A1 and a P226. Both are about equal in fit, finish, reliability and accuracy. I don't have any experience with HK's. The Beretta will give you everything you expect from the Sig and HK without the high price tag which is why it was chosen as the sidearm for the U.S Military.

I think that is because no one would trade the more expensive HK or Sig for a cheaper M9 :p

That being said by buddy has the M9 with the rail...sorry do not know the proper name of that one and I LOVE the thing...he hates it and wants to sell it!
