Beretta CX4 change from 9MM to 40S&W

Can you change a Beretta CX4 from 9MM to 40S&W by just changing the barrel, and mag?

no, the 9mm rim is smaller then the 40 S&W, but if you had a 40S&W you can change the barrel to a 357 SIG.

40 S&W change to 357 sig requires a new 9mm barrel chambered to 357 Sig only.

357 Sig is a 40 S&W necked down to 9mm creating a bottlenecked case.

Sure you can, it will cost you the same amount as just buying a .40. But then again you can never have to many.

Actually I called Beretta and the service person told me that all the parts are the same between both models (same bolt, same extractor, same ejector.)

It is just the barrel and magazines that are different.

9 to 40 does not sound like a sensible conversion, but 40 to 10mm - umm!

A 10mm carbine would be nice.

i thought about this also.. i am not sure if the 40 is the same as the 45 model internally.. i am thinking ejection port not being large enough maybe..a simple barrel swap would be too easy.

All the models are the same internally bar the obvious parts that won't work (barrel, extractor etc.) Not sure about the breech face for 45.

The mag well is sleeved to cope with different sized mags so you's need the appropriate sized sleeve too.
