Beretta CX4 Storm

Boomer is bang on except I can get 14 x 9mm rounds in my Berretta 96magazines.

TOTALLY incorrect. Read and understand the rules / regs in the Firearms Act prior to making (incorrect) sweeping assumptions.

The Storm is a rifle that takes a mag designed for a pistol which is ten rounds. (They were initially supplied with a 10rnd mag marked "CX4 Storm" which had to be returned to dealers and exchanged for 10rnd mags marked for the 92FS pistol because the RCMP ruled them as prohib devices: 10rnd semi-auto rifle mag: centerfire rifle mags are limited to 5rnds as per the FA).

Now if you use 96 mags instead of 92 mags and can squeeze an extra round or two of 9mm in the .40 cal mag then so be it. As per the bulletin the capacity is limited to the ammo the mag was DESIGNED to hold. The 96 mag tops out at 10rnds of .40 S&W which is what it was designed for. The fact that it can hold 10+ rnds of 9mm is of no consequence as it is a .40S&W mag. If were to hold 10+ rnds of .40S&W then it would be a prohib device. Silly, stupid, illogical whatever... it is what it is...for now :D

I tried this and the Glock 22 40 cal mag's fit fine in my Glock 17 but the feed lips on Glock 40 cal mags were slightly too wide allowing 9mm rounds to pop out the top. You could ever so slightly bent the feed lips in but I believe this could easily be considered a modification which could land you in hot water. Beretta 96 magazines work flawlessly as they come in the Beretta 92fs.

Apparently this works for glock 9 and 40 mags as well, never tried it thought

If anyone is interested the Beretta PX4 magazines in 40 cal hold 12 9mm but in this case the feedlips are slightly to wide and 9mm rounds will not stay in unless you bent the feed lips in which would again be a small modification and not a wise thing to do.
