I have used the search function.. And can not seem too find the answer..
On the Beretta site is says the excel is meant too be a clay gun and "CAN' be used for an occasional upland or water fowl hunt .
I am looking at an excel sport and a 391 Teknyks .. both are right in the same price range of 1300 for the excel and 1200 for the Teknyks . Both are used of course
I want too use the gun for waterfowl .. But can I use the Excel for waterfowl all the time with out ruining it and I can not seem to find much info on the 391 as far as waterfowl goes..
Or maybe I am just going to have to bite the bullet and go new with one of the Beretta's that intended for water fowl

As far as I know, the Beretta target oriented semis are identical to the hunting models as far as the gas compensating system is concerned and 3" capability. A quick call to Beretta's technical side would probably confirm this. When they say on the website "meant to be a clay gun" is because of the added features target shooters are looking for rather than the basic, utilitarian or camo features of the hunting line-up they offer. I've hunted ducks and geese with my Winchester SX3 Sporting. It's sold as a 2 3/4" target gun but works great in the field too!

Thanks .. I just did not want too part with my money and them find out if I used it for waterfowl all the time it was not so good for it . Or the 391 would be ""Better "" suited
I thought maybe it had something to do with the heavy loads used for waterfowl .
I was looking at a Bennelli .. but have been told they kick like a mule compared too the Beretta
