beretta extrema

Only taken mine out 3 times so far, but its amazing up until now. EATS up the recoil even without the kickoff. I used mine as a support stick while waist deep in water and mud, and it kept on shooting...
I paid a little under a grand, off of the EE. its still early but froom what I've seen I would recommend it

I have one, never any trouble. There is one on the EE FOR $1195 NIB. You will never find one cheaper. Worth every penny. Will last you forever.

That is an incredible price for that gun for sure! I love mine and wouldnt part with it. Bassproshops in calgary has extrema IIs in camo with kickoff for 1469.. was tempted to pick up another one at that price!

If I was in the market for a new autoloader for hunting I would try both the Xtrema2 and A400 Xtreme. I got to hunt a A400 Xtreme this fall for a couple weeks but I still much prefer my X2. The Xtrema2 just fits me better and I couldn't feel/see any differences between the two guns. So I would pick which ever gun feels better in hand to the shooter.

If I was in the market for a new autoloader for hunting I would give the A400 Xtreme a long look before going straight to the Xtrema2. I got to hunt a A400 Xtreme this fall for a couple weeks and I much prefer it to my X2. It handles/points much nicer then the X2, is lighter and soaks up more recoil then the X2. Unfortunately Stoeger only got 28" barrels this past fall so I'm waiting for a 26" to make it to Canada before upgrading.

I shot one of the first A400 in country and I liked it, i would have prefered it without the Kick-off or H20 or whatever they call it.

Prophet river had Urika's for 999$ might be worth a look. Not sure if they still do or not.

extrema

I shoot an extrema 2 and really like it, no problems at all and its going on 2000 rounds. Everyone I let shoot it loves it. Get the KO if for sure it makes the gun soft to shoot with any load. IMHO go for the extrema over the explore the steel reciever will out last the aluminum. I know its heavier but a 3 1/2" shotgun should be. Regards

be patient, extrema 2 is or will be discontinued shortly, so good be some really good deals now that have pretty well blown out the Urika 2's. A400 is the new auto loader series. the A400xtrema is pretty sweet :)

I'm not sure about the original Xtrema but both the Xtrema2 and Xtreme have aluminum receivers.

I've had one since 2006. I abuse it severely, and am completely satisfied. I find it clunky and unrefined to handle/shoot, but to say it can take a lickin' and keep on tickin' is an understatement. Bay of Fundy mud-baths that eat other guns for breakfast. Never a single issue with any type of shell and recoil is quite manageable even without KO.

Has anyone shot both the A400 and Browning Maxus.? I like the Extrema2 but did find it a bit heavy. Never really looked at the Urika 2's

Brownings and beretta have different stock fit, I think you need to handle both and see which one you like better.

Hanging out with my buddy's sbe.

I havent shot a A400 but have held one, xtreme waterfowler. I have shot the maxus, nice gun, low recoil, doesnt have the same feel as my beretta.
I have a xtrema 2 in black synthetic and a Urika 2 in max 4 camo. Beleive it or not, I will pick up the Urika 90%of the time if not higher. I luv the feel of the Urika 2, low recoil gun, fits me perfect and lighter. Both these guns do not have kick off, although I just ordered KO for my Urika, hope to receive this week. I luv it that majority of parts of Xtrema 2 and Urika 2 are interchangeable as well. AS they continue to sell these off moving to the new model a400, I hope to pick one more up at a GREAT price.

Ohhh didnt know we could share pics :) Great morning with my berettas whom I share with my son

Awesome you are out with your son. The time is irreplaceable. Mine is heavy into the clays with me currently, hunting in the not too distant future.

As for the Beretta, I have an a400 excel with KO. Fantastic, slightly different from the 391 series but shoots just as well if not better. Slightly easier to clean and maintain from what I am told from club members. And also from word of mouth the Maxxus line is supposed to be the softest shooters around.
You really can't go wrong with Beretta, especially if you can grab one of them on sale. Get them while they last.

Awesome pic pixel! Your labs look very happy! I'd love to get mine two out on a hunt like that.

So what is the difference between the A400 and the regular(?) Extrema?

thanks they got a good workout this past season, best birding I have had in a decade and I thought last year was great :) Will provide one more pic sampler LOL

but to answer you question, high level
1) New gas relief spring valve system
2) 5 coil spring instead of 4
3) self cleaning piston, similar design to xtrema 2
4) receiver ligher and shorter, better handling
5) Thicker and heavier bolt assembly A400 Xtreme Gas cylinder collar NOTE: Lighter bolt assembly—rear of bolt cut-out (shaped) differently. Aids in better cycling with wide range of 12 Ga ammo types VS A400 Xtreme Bolt Assembly
6)A400 Xtreme Trigger Plate Assembly More Compact and redesigned
7) Xtrema 2 Standard Screw on Mag Cap A400 Xtreme (B-Lok) quick removal Mag Cap= Fast and Easy Disassembly!
8) A400 Xtreme NEW Kick Off Mega 70% recoil reduction with the NEW Kick-Off Mega system
9)Superior Corrosion protection with AQUA ™ Technology

Phew.................. oh and they have a POD- google it, cool feature, probably more so for the a400 trap and shoot guns, not so much the xtreme
