Hey Squinty, I've done this exact search about a year ago when these receivers were first getting spread out with no luck.
I too seek consecutive numbers and it looks like I've got one of the ones you need, BMR4864, so, I'm interested in a trade if you have one of the following.

PB
509, 511, 1423, 1425, 1427, 9572, 9574

BMR
510, 9573, 1424

I was actually looking for PB 4864. I sent you a private message with my telephone number and I would be grateful were you to call me.

There are all sorts of possible combinations out there. I've been playing with the Italian rifles and stripped receivers for a long time and have gotten everything from a 2 digit Beretta to a 5 digit Breda. I always wanted to get a receiver with the same 4 numbers and came close twice with 3 numbers matching and one odd number.

I've combed out a lot of parts and built 3 rifles with all Breda parts and 1 with all Beretta parts. I also built an "international rifle" on a Breda receiver using a Danish made stock and barrel, a German bolt, a US made op rod and gas cylinder, a Beretta trigger group and a hodge podge of other mixed parts. It functions and shoots very well.

It's a real challenge to locate a Breda or Beretta stock and bolt which are numbered to a receiver. Original Breda and Beretta bolts and stocks were serial numbered. Stocks are marked "PB" OR "BMR" and the s/n on the left side just in front of the buttplate. Many of the surplus Danish stocks have a s/n stamped on the bottom of the stock, but these are not original Breda or Beretta markings and were added by the Danes. I have an original unrefinished Beretta stock that I picked up at a show in Tucson, AZ about 12 yrs ago and would love to find it's original receiver. Chances are that it's lurking out there somewhere as most of these receivers became orphans in Canada after being stripped to parts kits for sale in the US. I have a couple of Beretta receivers with unknown s/ns due in before Christmas, so you never know.

I have Breda guns number all matching unissued in sets of 123 1234 a few 12 stocks numbered to the guns etc

The Danes are reported to have procured 10,000 Garands from both Beretta and Breda, but there are several reports of Breda receivers with numbers in the 10,000 plus s/n range. I've not heard of a Beretta higher than 10,000. The highest Beretta I have is 99XX (can't recall the exact number as I'm on the road). It would be interesting to hear about one higher than 10,000.

AFter some point in the 5000 range it seems that all Beretta receivers are Bredas anyway. You start to see B.M.R.,indicating Breda, in the drawing numbers of Beretta receivers in this range. Beretta receivers in this range also show the same tool marks as the Bredas indicating that Breda produced them for Beretta with PB serial numbers being applied at some point.

I'll have to look at the few spares I have left and rekindle my search for where PB receivers go from PB to BMB under the woodline of stock for drawing number!
It would be super cool to have PB 4567 with PB drawing number and PB 4568 with BMB drawing number!

There is an equivalent serial number play with S&W .455 revolvers too, with some triple lock 455 of the 44 series sharing a number with the post 3rd lock feature brit contract variants. I've got the triple lock, wonder if it has an existing doppleganger in Canada/CGN?

Curious what the highest PB receiver with PB drawing number. PB4824 is the highest one I've got marked this way.
Conversely, what is the lowest PB reciever with a BMB drawing number out there?

The practice of Beretta subbing out to Breda for receivers seems to have occurred in the mid 5000 s/n range. PB5432 shows PB in the drawing number. PB5660 shows BMR so it seems to have happened somewhere among the 228 receivers between these two s/ns.
