Beretta M9 Night Sights

I have a Beretta M9 9mm pistol.

I was going to sell it casues I hate the dot and post sights but I was thinking to just take it to the gun smith and have some tritum sights installed but the front sight is part of the slide, can they still install night sights???, does the front sight have to be dove tailed????
