Beretta M9

Awesome pistol. It's been around for a longtime. The US military use at as their sidearm. If it's good enough for them then I bet it's good enough for you. Price is excellent. What are your concerns?

Incredible pistol, 92 FS was my very first firearm, I had it for about 20 years. I never had a single problem with it in probably about 10,000 rounds. Easy to strip and clean and a very nice crisp trigger.

However, I found it has a slightly different grip angle than the 1911 style of pistol and consequently I was a much better shot with my tokarev

Then I cheated on my long term partner (the 92) and tried a glock...I am a FAR better shot with my glock than I was with the 92. I sold the 92 within a month and got a Glock 17. That was several years and several thousand rounds ago and I don't regret the change at all. I still think the 92 is a better looking pistol but thats just me.

One thing also. I took the TDSA course several years ago, tactical shooting, room clearing, running and shooting around obstacles and all that. Well when you are 'under pressure' and have a pistol with a safety that needs to be flicked off was, for me, a bad idea. Several times when I had to suddenly draw and fire I found the safety was on and with the 92 you have to flick the safety forwards while you are pulling (drawing) the pistol backwards, not exactly a fluid motion.

it's been a great handgun as far as i'm concerned- however, there is one drawback besides having an overwide grip for no reason b/c of the stupid 10 round law- it's the locking block-if you can get your hands on one or a couple pick them up whenever you can- i've had one fail on me( and i'm not the first owner so i don't know how many rounds through) and beretta lists it as a " consumable" part- that means they EXPECT it to wear out- the other is the trigger spring, which is easily replaced

Love it!

Always liked them, my first handgun was the 92FS. I took my IPSC course recently and used my Beretta, never had one problem,no jams misfires and very accurate. I don't regret buying mine for 1 second. If you can get one new for 695.00 then go for it. I see them anywhere from 800-1000 new.

I've owned a number of Beretta Model 92's [civvie version of the M9]. Reliable & accurate. A tad big in the grip for me comfortwise. I'm onto the BHP MKIII for my "doublestack" 9mm now but a Beretta is a good pistol.
