Have you contacted Stoeger Canada? They’ll likely send you a replacement. Thats definitely not something that should be a happen, especially in only a couple seasons

They said it wasn't covered under warranty because the recoil pads are considered "a wear part".
Looks like something got on it that dissolved it? They do sell Microcore pads at Stoeger Canada in various thickness that screw right on…target size and hunting/field stock sized. I really like the Microcore pads. Very light and very good recoil absorbing. Easy to grind to fit if not going on a Beretta field or target gun too.

That's brutal. I’ve never seen a recoil pad wear like that. And some of my guns have pads on them that are older than me. One would think that a company as large as Beretta would replace a pad on a gun under warranty and make a customer happy. Especially knowing that pad likely only costs them a few bucks to make. Just terrible!
I agree 100% ... I had to spend 44$ + tax and shipping and got the regular rubber pad so that I won't have this problem again
Well, just received a thicker pad to increase the LOP on my A400 Sporting from Stoger Canada. Got a extra choke wrench to take it over $50.00 and got free shipping dropped off in three days by UPS. I have a standard length pad if anybody needs a replacement.
I’ve had a Sims pad go tacky and older pads harden but nothing like your pic. I’m with Ashcroft on the dog theory.

Beretta Gel Pads are quite different than Beretta Microcore pads...way heavier and not as soft in my experience.
And the summary of the cause of Beretta Microcore pad failure issues copied from another forum:
."call Beretta." So I did. Here is a summary of what warranty and service told me:
1. They get 3-5 calls a week during bird season on this issue. I think he said week, maybe it was month. But he stated directly that they get "lots" of calls all year long. So much so that they wrote an article on the issue.
2. Rubber surfaces on your A400, and any Beretta per his note, will 100% fail if in contact with any acidic solvent. His examples include, mosquito spray, sunblock, and gun cleaners like Hoppes #9.
3. Always wipe down your rubber surfaces ASAP with soapy water, Dawn to be specific, if in contact with an acidic solvent."

Yup, what Blockcaver wrote is correct in my experience. Some synthetic rubbers and solvents don't mix.
I agree! I loved mine until it came apart.
Since I use this gun for hunting mainly, I replaced it with the rubber version which should be much more durable, but might not perform as well for recoil.

Has anybody ever worn thru a recoil pad?
- The worst I've seen over the years were the screw-slots getting buggered up... and one English double that had a leather-covered pad that was all dried-up and cracked
