I bought a Beretta Model 71 and as soon as I got it home I tried to take it down to see what was inside. It came with instructions which said to turn the lever on the right side of the frame counter clockwise and tap the barrel at which point the slide should go forward and come off. After doing this it still remained solid and wouldn't come apart so I left it and took it to the range hoping that the recoil would loosen things up..still won't come apart.
The gun shot great and I was getting decent groups with no reliability issues but it still won't come apart.
I know that there are quite a few of these guns out there so I am hoping someone can suggest a way for me to disassemble this one.
