Beretta Model 71 owners. A quick question.

Is there supposed to be a snap ring on the right side where the slide lock lever goes through the frame? Mine doesn't have one, but it looks like it should. Thanks.

Maybe. Some parts diagrams illustrate a circlip while others do not. Does not having one affect your gun in any way?

It seems okay, as the slide lock lever is held in by the grip on the opposite side, but it seems unlikely that Beretta would design it this way. If it's supposed to have one, I'd rather it did. Especially considering it would be a low-cost part to replace

I believe the newer pistols had the snap ring, whereas the older models did not.

Just check, mine has a snap ring on it.

I have an older one and no snap ring... I think there is a parts book online. I have the book buried here somewhere though..
