Can seem to find Beretta Optima HP factory chokes anywhere. Does anybody know who has stock of a skeet and modify choke?

Thanks

Thanks Guys
Currently Brownells and Stoeger is out of stock on skeet. Was hoping someone knew of one at there local store. I might just get on Brownells back order list.

Get an original Beretta choke as most aftermarket chokes are mislabelled! They also ad useless weight at the muzzle. Your Beretta dealer can order a Beretta choke. It will arrive with the next shipment from Italy.

Henry, seriously? OEM chokes are the ones well-known for being mis-labelled. And last I checked steel from Beretta weighs about the same as steel from Briley or Trulock. You can buy flush chokes aftermarket chokes, too.

Briley have the same constrictions as Beretta. But some of the other "wonder chokes" have tighter constrictions than advertised. So an IC Beretta which is 9 thou and produces an IC pattern, some aftermarket will cheat and use 11 or 12 thou constriction with so much S/S weight at the muzzle to create a denser pattern than IC! Plus, one gets so much more muzzle weight that it upsets the "moment of inertia" or liveliness of the shotgun! Pattern your shells with your chokes and you will see what is going on!

I tried a friends Mullers that he had for his A400. Didn't like the way it patterned but the Muller chokes are aluminum and being lighter than steel made the front end so whippy I had a hard time controlling it. I put myself on the back order list at Brownell's for the optima's.

Thanks
Guys

The LM Beretta flush Optima HP had no holes at 35 measured M with a variety of shotshells. The Mullers had holes and were a few thou tighter constriction! Beretta is now roducing for the American market ported extended chokes in all constrictions including LM. I am waiting for my samples to conduct and evaluation.

Tried the Muller's as well and was not impressed, the quality was not there and the pattern was not as good as the Optimas.

Extended chokes are easier to change for the choke changers! Bruce Buck and myself have found no difference in pattern performance of flush or extended chokes! Choke manufacturing is simple! It is either long taper or short taper with a long parallel or/and cheat on the constriction in both cases!
Do not believe the hype and pattern your shotshell loads! Besides, all the S/S chokes at weight where you don't want it at the muzzle!

The aluminum tubes make the gun too "whippy" and the stainless aftermarket tubes make the gun "hard to control..."

Give me a freakin' break...

Most of the guys at our clubs are getting them directly through Carlson. Not cheap either way so for warned.

Al's Corner Store has excellent prices and service on Carlson's chokes... and many other products... I try to throw them my business whenever possible.

Mullers are a less forgiving choke, there main pattern is excellent but they are don't have a lot of pellets in the surrounding area unlike Briley or Carlson which generally is a very forgiving choke. Muller is also probably the lightest choke on the market using so if your really worried about weighing down your barrels use a U2 instead of a U3. It also depends on style I would love a choke made of lead if it was strong enough more weight on my gun the better! I am a huge fan of Briley tubes but unfortunately Briley there a fairly well priced choke that throws a very forgiving and even pattern but they are hugely back ordered so you probably wont see anything from them for a while. As a good friend of mine says "spend the 200 bucks your about to spend on chokes and buy targets instead."
