NAA.

SFRC has a few models with free shipping.....$469 I think for the compact.

I love the design but have an Inox 92FS Beretta had it for almost 10 years. Great gun! Still havent had a chance to play with Girsan but I like that they make compacts where Beretta doesn't anyone, actually they're Centurion model copies rather than Beretta 92 Compact since the frame is full size.

Don't see too many Girsan selling for $150.....do see used 92 for $550 on occasion

I'm sure either will do for most needs. If you want a Girsan…buy a Girsan. If you want a Beretta…buy a Beretta.
If I was looking for either and a used Beretta 92 (in good shape) showed up on the EE for $550 I would buy it…..

The 4.3" Girsan compact looks interesting @ SFRC (Free Shipping).

Girsan looks good but considering the price you can pick up a low round count Beretta for I would buy a Beretta. I love my 92fs and would never sell it. Personally I want the Beretta with the name and history; theres a reason so many copy the Beretta. Side by side new in box I might have bought the Girsan if it felt as good or better. From everything I have read Girsan is making a solid firearm, might even pick up a compact version so long as they use Beretta magazines.

I'm going to be the only naysayer. I've put a lot of time in with both a Beretta and a Girsan over the past 7 months. While I like my Girsan just fine, my inclination would be to buy a used Beretta off the EE rather than buy a NEW Girsan, especially if I wanted a full size. With a Beretta I can be absolutely 100% sure replacement parts will fit without some minor tweak needed. The only reason I bought a Girsan was that I could not find a centurion length Beretta.

That being said, I think the vast majority of shooters would be reasonably happy with either brand. Most shooters don't shoot their guns enough to have to worry about parts wearing out or breaking.

The Girsan reeks of quality. I sold mine simply because it wasn't right for me.

Clone gun makers generally fall into the Cheap camp or the Good camp. This is a rare one that is both.

Well, if you take a longer look, that $300 is your first 1000 rounds of ammo, give or take.

In the long term the price difference gets pretty meaningless - buy the one that makes you happy. If you want the name and the history, get the original. If you just want an example of the platform itself, get the Girsan.

Then down the road look at the P-38, which is the daddy of both ;)

If they did I'd be up for getting another one. The grip is just a hair too big for my hand. I thought of buying one and filing them down. This would save me the bother.

thanks for the replies guys. i checked the EE and all the beretta's i found were over 700 and the girsons were pretty close to the price of a new one. so i think i will head to the gun store and check them out.

i made my choice, I went on sunday and bought the girson. just have to wait for the cfo to do his thing and go pick it up. i asked the guy at the store what one he suggested and we said the girsan too. now i just need a range to go to.
