I was out looking for a new hobby after doing some shooting the other day ( cz85) and was wondering what the feed back was on the Beretta line. The two pistols that fit my hands the best were the Cz 85 and the Beretta, I found the Glock 17 and 22 too edgy and not comfortable to hold. I believe the model Beretta was a 92/96

Well i haven't had any problems with my Beretta 96 vertec. And it is the handgun that i shoot the most (other then the .22's because they are a lot cheaper to shoot with)

The Beretta 92FS Brigadier is my favorite owned gun at the moment. It's simply great...

Great pistol:reliable, accurate and has stood the test of time. Unfortunately, 92/96 is being discontinued in favour of the 90-two (plastic fantastic).
IF you want more info - I suggest to surf over to the beretta forum...

I personally had a "fun" time finding a 92FS, but thanks to P&D, I found one!

The 90two are going to be in Canada some time this year according to Wolverine Supplies.
The 90two is not tupperware. The frame is light alloy and the slide is steel: http://www.beretta90two.com/index.aspx?m=53&did=41

What's the trigger like on a 92FS? I've fired one about six months ago, but I don't remember.

When it's cocked, is there a lot of take-up before the internals make contact and release the hammer (like with the CZ SP01)?

as noted the 90Two is not a plastic frame, it's more like a Sig frame with the removable grips. the PX4 (not available in Canada for civies) is the plastic fantastic.
The Elite series of Beretta's is the top of the line as far as I am concerned. they are "G" models which means no safety, just decock.

It's fantastic on my Brigadier: single action is clean (3lbs?) and double-action is actually pleasant. I can't say enough good things about that pistol... hogue grips, nice sights, great precision and a whole lotta fun to shoot! Get one if you can.

you should feel what it's like when a proper trigger job is done to a Beretta. The single action is like glass, and the DA is smoooooooth like butter.
