Hello folks,

I own a few handguns but never actually brought one to the range.
Hoping tho change it this week

I have a sw sd9ve, glock 17 and a kimber custom 11.
I just purchase a browning challenger yesterday and will be shooting it first.

Now my question is what do you guys think of the beretta px4, one came up for about 650, it might have been shot once, comes with all the original goodies and it is as new.

Is this good price wise?
And what are thoughts on this handguns?

Thank you

Personally having some experience with one, I think there are better choices, that said, check out the Masada? great trigger, far better than the PX4, and it's optic ready for a MRDS. Ultimately it's your money, but I'd move on. Good Luck.

Some of its "selling" features were it's rotating barrel, but at the end of the day it was just a "re-branded" Cougar (Beretta 8000), which was a disappointment.

This is a recent review and I agree with all the points raised (even if I hate James' delivery style). This talks about a gun with an improved trigger, but the factory trigger is excellent.

Personally, I love the gun - own 2 (9 and 45) and a conversion slide for .40.

It's a failure. It has high bore axis like a 92 and it came out when everyone is going striker fired. Feed ramp is plastic and gets chewed up. Rotating barrel is supposed to be great for recoil but it was never used again by Beretta.

Feed ramp is metal...

Rotating barrel is the reason the gun was more expensive to manufacture so it couldn't compete. The rotating barrel did not give enough of a benefit to warrant the price. Now their prices are getting depressed so it may be worthwhile to buy a used one.

Before the OIC I was strongly considering the px4 and cx4 platforms for their magazine, cross compatibility; never jumped onboard - cant tell now if I'm glad I didn't, or not.. would likely feel similar had I been compelled to move in the other direction. With regards to the Px4 on its own, I've heard mixed reviews, about 80% positive. $650 is a sound price from my research.

Not.
Not a fan, Beretta even made these in 45acp. While the S&W M&P easily transitioned from 9mm to 45, the PX4 was something of an odd duck. The rotating barrel concept is no better or worse against JMB’s tilting barrel.

I have not encountered any PX4’s being used by competitors around here. A couple 92FS’s, a bunch of PPQ’s, 1911’s but the CZ pistols dominate heavily.

If I wanted one, it would have to be less money & in LNIB condition, over a NIB CZ P10F.
