Beretta PX4 Storm?

I had the chance to shoot this gun the other night. It seemed to fit my hand well and I liked the smaller feel and lighter weight compared to the 92 I shot. I did notice more recoil and movement (is that called barrel flip?). It seemed to shot a little low and I found later reference to this in a Hickock45 review vid I found. Is this a general charicteristic of these guns?

I'm a newb and looking to buy my first 9mm. I had originally thought I wanted a steel gun but now I'm not so sure. If i remove the "steel only" condition should i also look at guns like the S&W MP9 or the Rugar SR9 It will be for casual range use.

I have owned both the storm and the MP, the MP is a solid gun, very popular and the adjustable back straps and cheaper price are also great.

Beretta is prestige factor. Never shot one but have heard the CBSA ones are no good. ( posted here somewhere..)
Don't dismiss a MP9! I was never interested in them until my buddy got one. Matched it against my BHP ( made in Belgium) at 10 yds. Even with the safety trigger, I shot a 1 inch group with 6 rounds and that had a small flyer to make it one inch. 3 shots went in one hole. My BHP did no better than 1.5. I was pissed! Also, the range kit for the MP9 makes it even more of a value! I'm now a convert! IMO, the SR9 doesn't feel as quality as the MP9 but that's just a matter of taste.
 
I want a PX4 but in .40 its a very solid gun. If youre wanting a steel gun the 92 is great. It was my first handgun and I wont part with mine.
 
Got the PX4 in 9mm, high quality gun, works flawless, but did not liked the snappy recoil, now a Beretta 92fs & Rem 1911 R1e ...
 
I prefer a Glock or an M&P over the PX4. Having said that, my PX4 has been utterly reliable with about 7500 rounds through it.
 
Dislike the slide mounted safety. But that's a beretta thing. Actually I dislike manual safeties period, Trigger is decent. Apparently guide rod requires changes frequently, but owners have to confirm that. Same for the mallet joke. Owners have to clarify what that's all about.

I have very little recollection of it, so my experience with it was generally forgettable. If I was going to buy a poly right now I would be looking at m&p, glock, or ppq at a comparable price point.

Personally I would wait for the HK VP9 but I am a bit biased ;)

If you have to have a beretta and this works for you, get it. But it's not the best for the money.

You found the Px4 to be snappy, in 9mm? While I'm not crazy about the platform, one thing I'll say is that the rotating barrel does tame felt recoil quite a bit. I've found that they make 147 grain rounds feel like 115s.

Yes, the PX4 has the typical snappy recoil of a polymer gun, same thing for a Glock.
