Hi,

I would like to buy a beretta and I am pretty much decided to choose de px4. I heard a lot of good about this pistol (except some people on this forum calling it total crap). Unfortunately, I can't find a store that has both in stock so I can touch it and "feel" the grip of it. I can order no problem, but nobody seems to have them in stock so buying whitout even touching is not fun :(

Does anyone know a place near montreal (I can go on north or south shore no problem) where they have both in stock ?

If you shot both, wich one did you prefer between both ?

Thanks

Hi Herrick. I bought the PX4 as my first pistol a few months back. I was able to hold (not fire) a PX4, a 92, and a 90-two. I found the 90-two to have a similar feel, I have smaller hands and preferred the PX4 and 90-two over a 92 which felt bigger. You need to call around a bit and see if you can get your hands on them. FYI if you buy the PX4 Inox, it comes with the 3 different backstraps like the US versions, where my Canadian original finish Storm only came with the mid sized grip option.

Only shot the 92fs, but held both.

I personally felt like the Px4 grip had really poor texturing. You'd have to stipple the #### out of it before I'd ever go near it with my money. On top of that I think that the safety/decocker on the 92fs is easier to operate.

Much prefer the controls and grip on the 92fs, so that's what I'd go for.

holy crap you guys do realize that the PX4 is wayyyyy better than the 92A1 ;) no really it is. more reliable I find, way better trigger, very accurate... love that PX4.

OP, choose the PX4 in 9mm, you won't regret it. or just buy both, but you'll be selling the 92a1 pretty quick.

I held both in my hand at the gun store, walked out with the PX4 as my first pistol. It just felt right in my hand. Haven't had any issues yet other than me being a noob, and I find it's also softer shooting than the gen 4 Glock 17 I bought months later, and ended up selling later as well.

Yeah the PX4 is an awesome pistol. You will love it when the "super luminoso" inserts fall out or the front sight flies off all together. More fun will be had looking for the slide stop spring after it flies out while you clean the pistol because there is nothing holding the slide stop in the frame.
The CBSA issues this pistol and they have a service life of three years. That's right after three years the officers are issued a new pistol and the old one is junked. Compare this with the OPP who after five years have their Sigs rebuilt and returned to their officers.
That might tell you something about the PX4's quality and reliability.

I have a PX4 and it works and shoots great. I've got over 6,000 rounds through it. Had my first ever malfunction about two weeks ago. Other than that - perfect performance. Accurate and reliable.

My first handgun is a 92FS, I compared to the glock 17. I don;t have big hands but the 92FS felt right. Its has been a nice shooter. But i've had comments from other owner of CZ and Sig bashing it. Who really cares? It feels good, go with it! Like someones else said "if its good for Mel and Bruce, Its good enough for you"
