Hi, new to the forum, quick question for o/u owners, I am looking for a recoil pad for a bereta over/under. Has anyone tried the ones that Beretta sells? Am wondering if they work well and if they need to be shaped. Anyone else tried aftermarket ones ? Comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The Beretta MicroCore pads. I like them alright enough, they soak it up much better than their pads from the 90's and earlier. I find they generally match up pretty darn good on both field guns and clay guns in my experience. (Field guns pads are smaller overall size tho)
I've got more than a few of them, but I still prefer a Kick-Eez. The MicroCore's I did purchase I got thru Brownells. 3 different thicknesses to choose from at that time, I hear they have 4 now.

I have had these, in black, installed on two OU Berettas

What I favour about these is the no-snag top on the comb for upland bird hunting. Not sure about fit though for DIY - I had them done by a very good gunsmith and he may have ground them to fit. Anyhow, for me (hunter, clays only for practice no not much volume shooting) these are great pads. They do not, compared to many others, soak up recoil particularly well though, so if that's what you're looking for I'd perhaps looks elsewhere.

I put Decellerator Old English pads from Pachmayr on all my field shotguns as they grind cleanly , look good and absorb recoil well.
