Hey all,

Was out shooting trap this afternoon and after about 3 boxes of shells, the muzzle end of lower barrel peeled out to the bottom of the threads and launched out my choke.

I retrieved the choke tube (a factory Beretta) and it kind of imploded near the bottom and twisted, making a few holes.

Now I'm wondering what can be done here.

It is a Beretta sv10 perennial 3 and wasn't a cheap shotgun by any means. Just curious of others customer service experiences with Beretta?

Thank you

Thanks for the info Falcon, I'll get a hold of Stoeger on Tues.

I'm wondering if the bottom barrel can be detached then replaced?

I'm sure that it can be but I'd think it may be just as cost effective to fit a new set of barrels to the receiver. Detaching the old barrel, cleaning up the top barrel then re-attaching a new one, getting the regulation correct and then polishing and bluing won't be cheap.

I seriously doubt that anyone will suggest having the barrel removed and replaced. The only logical fix I can imagine taking place is as Falconflyer mentioned and that would be to have a new barrel assembly fit to the receiver.

My experiences with Stoeger Canada have been positive. That said, if they do not have parts in stock, you’re going to be in for a long wait as they only bulk order a few times a year,

A new barrel set might take a lot longer than a complete replacement which is what I’d be pushing for in your circumstance,

Patrick

You can go to the Stoeger Canada web site and fill out the repair tag.
Never had any issues with repairs on warranty guns of getting parts

Like everyone else, methinks you’re going to need a new set of barrels. But, for what it’s worth, take it to your nearest smith for a free opinion. Maybe he’ll be able to salvage the damaged one by permanently installing a cylinder choke on that lower barrel.

My beretta warranty experience was good. Brand new DT10 has shot 3-4 boxes then trigger wouldn’t fire whatsoever. Jerry Gagnon who sold me the gun, borrowed a set of triggers from a friend and sent mine to beretta. Had them back in a few weeks.
