Beretta S686 Barrel Fitting

Would a Beretta S58 barrel be made to fit a S686 receiver? From what I understand, the S686 is a narrow frame receiver. I'm not sure what a S58 is.

Its an older version of the Beretta O/U... parts are generally incompatible, barrels moreso.

Thanks for your comment. I been doing a lot of search and I am under the impression that early production of the S686 is large frame and that the S58 evolved to be 680 series.....still hoping they might be compatible....
