Back in 1992 I was running a hunting shop and became good friends with the Beretta rep.
He told me about these guns that were about to arrive and only 10 coming to Canada, I was lucky enough to be the first one to see them and pick one out for myself.
At the time I was young and single a few years later family comes along and I had to sell a few things. I sold mine to a collector friend who promised if he ever sold it he would sell it back to me at the same price, well he was a man of his word and my old gun is back and it's hardly been used.
Basically it's a 686 Sporting Clays model with some minor differences, the story was back in 1991 a shooting school in the UK had ordered a couple hundred so Beretta made a few extra for retail. They only made the 1 run of them so extremely rare and I'm happy to have it back.
Differences being -
Higher grade stock with hand rubbed oil finish, wood butt plate instead of rubber and no schnabel
Matte finish on the barrels with reverse tapered vent rib and sighting groove cut in.
So happy to have it back, I've actually asked him a hundred times over the past ten years and he finally called me back.
Still even with google hard to find much on this series of 686
