I have a single action Beretta stampede. After firing the revolver the hammer and trigger are failing to properly reset.
By way of further description, after firing the pistol the hammer stays back from its full resting position about 1/16th of an inch. In addition the trigger does not come back to its full reset position and remains instead close to the the back of the trigger guard. A very slight pullback on the hammer will reset the hammer and the trigger into their neutral spots, or if you push forward slightly on the trigger.
With snap caps it will fail to properly reset every time. With ammuntion it fails to properly reset about half of the time. With an empty chamber it will properly reset everytime.
Any ideas as to what is the problem, and how to correct ?
