Anyone shooting one of these odd looking little 22's? My wife is wanting to join me in my plunge into pistol shooting, and has taken a liking to the looks and feel of the U22. Any easy way of getting them with the colored grip inserts, just so i can "girl it up" for her so she doesnt have to glue rhinestones to it (my ruger 77 still hasn't fully recovered :( )

Find someone that can do custom wood grips in a whit'ish wood such as Maple or similar and then dye them a snazzy girly color and THEN seal the grain with varnish or a thin wiped on coat of epoxy.

I've got some bits of arbutus and dogwood that are a very light honey color that would work for this and the dogwood has a natural light pink'ish tint as it comes. A bit of drilling to inset those rhinestones and maybe some silver wire inlay and your Ruger will be able to finally come out from cowering in fear.... :D
 
I've got one...like it, but have never done a 'back to back' comparison against some of the other units that come to mind.....Ruger MkII, etc.....
It seems to be very reliable, digest just about anything that it's fed, and unless you're looking for a serious target model, I think that it's a good buy.
 
I don't own one, but I have shot one...

the gun has a pretty small grip so it should fit woman's hands quite well.

Just looking for a plinker for now. I know of one in the EE, but does anybody know where parts are available. The beretta site says they are modular and have interchangeable grip assemblies for solid colors or colored grip panels
 
I have one, use during the winter to do a lot of plinking; I find mine does not like some kinds of ammo, but once you know which ones it great and fun to shoot. You can get add-ons grips etc, not seen much in Canada may be able to get some ordered in, if you go to the Beretta web site all sorts of stuff, different colour grips, barrels etc. Easy to pull apart, beware of cleaning, cleaning barrel from breach side there is a sharp edge that will get you. A good choice.
 
Yep, very accurate, interchangeable sites, easy to see. trigger slightly heavy (not such a bad thing for new shooters), smaller grip, still comfortable even for larger hands. Easy maintenance/takedown, Forty4Forty hit the nail on the head though...that feed ramp is SHARP! The rake of the handle takes a little getting used to, but I found the weight to be perfectly balanced in the 6 inch barrel model. Got one and I love it!

A fun little pistol more accurate than it looks, reliable and so far shoots everything reliable with no problems. Many club members have been pleased shooting with it for a change. Just like every pistol crappy Winchester or similar junk .22,s wont fire but thats the ammo not the pistol, its not a model 41 but I recomend it to just enjoy easy shooting---Ron.
 
I have one; it's fun. It got a great review in the CSSA magazine earlier this year. Mine likes Remington better than Federal rounds. Takedown is a bit odd but it's a bunch a fun for $350. Accessories are available on the Beretta website to give it bit of colour. I haven't found a holster for it; may have to go generic. :)
 
6" u22 stainless

Had it for about one year. I bought it used . I put about 6000 rounds of federal ammo through it and has never failed and shows little wear. Super gun for $300.
