Beretta visit

I had a two and half hour visit to the new Beretta. Yes, the new Beretta which in the last three years has reinvented itself with more than 120 million Euro investments in the production facilities. Each plant and production facility has had a complete makeover from my previous visits.

Here is Aldo Lovazzani (an Italian champion trap shooter and in charge of shooter assistance) and myself at the entry of the refurbished Premium gunshop

Upstairs, next door is the engraving shop. It is much brighter and has a new younger manager. Here is a A400

A small gauge sidelock

A new philosophy that Beretta now has, is to make premium guns for stock for the Beretta Gallery storefronts. Beforehand, they took only orders. This is a 28 gauge frame with 26 different animals.

Notice that all the engravers are working with natural light!

There are four final inspectors of the Over/Under production facility.

While all the parts are cnc machined, they still are handfitted. Here is one trigger group assembly station

This is plant one where most of the cnc machining takes place. It no longer sports a dark blue floor.

In several areas of the plant, they use natural air cleansing technic as well as mechanical.

From a solid block of alloy, a single machine will produce this frame ready to be assembled into a shotgun

One more piece of interesting information about Beretta, it has some 60 engineers working on different firearms plus some 20 designers. Imagine, engineering having more pull than the designers! Also, it has more engineers than any other firearm maker!

If it is Tuscany or the Dolomites, send me a pm. I can arrange some nice and interesting visits! From Brescia on our way to Castelfranco VT, we stopped at Negrar just out of Verona for a private wine tasting at Domini Veneti, the largest producer of Amarone, Ripasso and Valpolicella wines with 225 wineries supplying! Normally in Tuscany, we stay at Badio di Pomiano on the hills of Arezzo that we use as a base. We visit Castello di Meleto, Brolio and Nozzole ( Ambrosio & Giovanni Folonari) on every visit. You can also have a short drive to Montalcino, Montepulciano, Rada in Chianti and many more from there. We were in Asolo as well as Bassano di Grappa on this trip.
