Beretta92FS Question

Yeah I'm too not sure about you receiving a shipment from Wilson. I tried ordering new grips for my 92G and there is no way to make it ship to Canada
 
In reverse order of messages.

It's not that

They can't open an account.

I did.

They need instruction on how to and I can't figure out how to tell them how I did

I had a choice for province etc and the system doesn't have that.

My order was a month and a half ago

Hi. I have an account with you. I live in Canada and I order and had delivered everything in perfect order.

I am trying to tell my friends they can order directly from you but they keep getting told that you don't ship parts to Canada.

Can you please give step by step instructions with links as to how to get an account if you are Canadian.

I had zero issue. They are pulling their hair out
 
I have had an account with Wilson for years, its not a problem to create an account but when you try to do a checkout you cant pick Canada or province or a Canadian postal code, even if your billing address is Canadian when you click the box for shipping address to be the same as billing address it wont fill in those 3 fields and will give an error if you try to continue.
 
I ordered recoil springs from Wolf's and they came in about a month. No prob.

Actually, you needs to order more than $40 to get free shipping and mail order.

I've ordered from Wolfe before and no problems but it's nice to have FOC to order from thanks
 
I get most of my springs from Wolfe but Wilson started making a 12lb hammer spring and they also have fiber optic front sights for Beretta. I used to use Dawson sights but they stopped shipping to an address that was different than the billing address, good thing now is Freedom Ventures just started handling all Dawson products and also Cylinder and Slide who make some Beretta parts as well. Also Fusion firearms in Flordia now handles all LPA sights who make adjustable rear sights and now make a set for Beretta with a FO front sight and they will ship to Canada.

Cutting coils is never the way to do it.

With a torch, heat up the top coil (or two) glowing-red-hot with a torch, then let air-cool... that's it.
By doing this you'll remove the "spring" but keep the same length so the remaining coils are still working over the same distance they were designed to (and you'll get a slightly weaker/softer spring.)

*Cutting coils actually increases the work each spring does. Hard to picture, but cutting coils is actually counter productive.

I dont recommend cutting coils off a spring either but heating it till it glows and letting it cool will remove most of the temper from the metal reducing the spring rate and making it prone to early metal fatigue.

Where did you get this from?

I figure, cutting a coil does indeed shorten the spring somewhat but it is just going to be under less compression since the distance along the hammer strut and mainspring housing is still shorter than the overall length of the shortened spring.

You're not extending the spring any longer to make up for the lack of a half-coil or two so it's not like it needs to move any more distance than the original length and if it does the distance is pretty minimal. If anything, due to lack to compression it will be even less likely to fatigue compared to a full spring.

Heating up spring steel till it is glowing is never a good idea.
 
I have ordered D-Action springs from Stoeger Canada for about 9.00 each. They are the Beretta Distributor for Canada. I have also ordered recoil springs and locking blocks. Worst thing about ordering through them is actually trying to get the parts dept. to pick up the phone. Just keep trying.

Yeah, Stoeger parts supply sucks, ordered a thin grip for a 90-two over 2 years ago still have not heard from them, ended up getting one from Brownells, I will be very surprised if they ever bring in the G conversion kit for the M9A3 but we shall see. Between Wolff and Brownells you can get pretty much everything for a 92/96 to keep it running.
 
Wilson Combat update: Due to some emails to Wilson on Canadian orders lately they have now changed their policy on drop shipping. Any one that had an account with a Canadian billing address and was shipping to a friend in the US can no longer do so. Billing and Shipping addresses must both be US now.
