Beretta's new striker pistol

That slide looks absolutely hideous, more like finger grooves than serrations. I don't think they would offer a better grip on the slide. It seems like a banal offering this late in the striker-fired game.

I heard that a big US agency is getting Glocks. Was it the army? I know I saw it somewhere, maybe that is why there are so many new polymer pistols in the market....

US Army won't adopt a Glock as the trigger needs to be pulled for disassembly....one of the conditions for the trials.

Glock 19 was approved for MARSOC a few days ago. That might be what you heard.

An uglier and more expensive MPish/GLOCK that is 30 years late more or less! lol
No thanks. I'll take a Glock.

M&P/Glock bastard child.

Next.

That hurts my eyes ! Oh Beretta , why has thou forsaken me .

^^+1 Ooooooh that's nasty

Yup and alot of police forces and agencies have been dropping the Glock as well because of that reason, switching to mostly the M&P's. The market saturation for Glock has reached its peak and is dropping now.

Simply put, it now offers very little worth purchasing over any other polymer/striker pistol out there. That and market saturation with the other polymer/striker pistols out there means the Glock's time in the spotlight is done.

I like this with the nickel slide.
After falling in love with my Beretta shotgun, I hope this fits me just as well.

Well on the positive side it's likely the lightest berreta "double action" in history.

Secondly the pistol looks to have a overly high bore axis ... Sig like ...... I don't like it.

Why can someone build a short slide (cz style) striker fired gun instead of all these pistols that are essentially the same.. Claiming to be different

Always liked Berretas, slide release on both sides, reversible mag release, being a left hander, those are a must to me.

Hmmm... another M&P9 or this? I'll have to get my grummy hands on one to see for myself :)

Isn't more variety and greater choices to choose from a positive thing? I don't get it. Don't knock it until you try it.

I'm knocking it strictly on looks , true . I appreciate the beauty of the classic Berettas , always have . Mind you , beretta is responsible for that Neos thing , so hey , even a beautiful swimming pool can have a turd floating in it . Maybe they are trying different aesthetics here and there , like Ford and the Edsel . It's just my opinion you know , and others might think it's a thing of beauty but eff me , that is , IMO , one oogley gun .
It might be a hell of a shooter too , but in the words of Samuel Jackson " rat might taste like pumpkin pie , but I wouldn't know 'cause I ain't gonna eat the filthy MF " .
We all have different tastes and for me a gun has to perform AND look great , I'm shallow like that .

now, does it take 92 mags or something new, hard to find and expensive? That may be an actual deal maker/breaker for them. well, that an a 6+lb trigger...

Trigger guard, slide....uhhh cuts or whatever, and the very smooth texture frame tells me this won't be a big seller.

This pistol wasn't designed to please the masses of civilian consumers (although if it does I'm sure Beretta wont complain). I was designed and built specifically to compete in the US Army's MHS competition.

At any rate it's GOT to be better than a damned M9...lol
