Hello all, just sighted in a new Bergara Timber in 6.5 creed, wanted to say it is likely the most accurate rifle I have shot out of the box... lots of posts on here about the 6.5, not tons about the Bergara...
My first impression of the rifle was that it was a bit “club like”, it’s not particularly light and the stock is a bit fuller then I’m used to but after shooting it I’m sold, great gun.
If anyone is thinking of this rifle, don’t hesitate, fit and finish is great, wood is solid and mettle finish is blemish free!!

I’ve got the same rifle. Beautiful wood, and very accurate. And yes it’s a bit on the heavy side, and the wood is a handful, but boy does it shoot.

I have not owned one but read a couple of different articles about them, both said they were on the heavy side but they also said they were very accurate. They are supposed to have good quality barrels. If I were right handed I wood consider buying one they look great.

I worked up loads for a friends Bergara in 6.5CM, one of the fussiest rifles I have worked with. And copper fouling was extreme.

Wow what components did you use? Did you break in the barrel? If not that can cause copper buildup. I only clean my Bergara 6.5 every 500 or so rounds. It's a tech driver with pretty much any charge of H4350. 140 ELDM. 20190712_092331.jpg20190712_091658.jpg

I tested various weights of Eld-m, Eld-x, Gamechanger, and Matchkings, with H4350 , and R-17. Only one combination grouped 1/2moa or better. My T-3 in 6.5CM shot sub 1/2 moa with several combinations, with almost no copper fouling

That's definitely surprising to hear. Mine is the opposite. I cant really come up with a load that is more than .5" really. .7" on a bad day.

Is it safe to say a Tikka that consistently shoots several loads into less than a half MOA is not really something you can count on though?

Longboat - looks like a winner! nice targets, might as well enter that sucker in the .5-.75 challenge sticky at the top.

That's just a load development target haha. My wife takes about 10 shots a year. She put 5 into .25" a couple weeks ago. Yeah a bit of luck was involved for her to do that. But you get the idea.

Theres my 308 Bergara with 43.5 Varget. I have shrunk those groups down a bit more using 43.7 Varget.

Both those out of the box rifles absolutely kick ass. I may even pick up Bergaras 6mm Creedmoor. Bergara had been nothing but amazing for me. No issues at all. And I shoot them A LOT!
