I have a long range rifle in .308 that I have a good load for with the Berger 185 JGN. If all other components being the same, could I expect the same or close to the same results if I switched to a 185 Classic Hunter? I know the bullets are slightly different in shape. I don't have to have .3-.4 MOA that I am getting with the JGN's, but could I expect even 1 MOA with no or minimal tweaks to the load or by just switching to the Classic Hunters? Just for fun this season I'm thinking about taking along my long range rig and if the opportunity presents itself on a nice whitetail, I might take a poke at extended distances.

You will no doubt get good results with both. I used 185 Juggernauts and 185 Hunting VLDs and got really good results from both. I was using them in different rifles though, with the Juggs optimized for a target rifle and the VLDs optimized for a hunting rifle. Rounds performed very well in both rifles, but performed better in the rifle they were optimized for.

In your case, unless you're running a near max load, you should be able to just change the bullet and keep the rest of the load the same. You'll have to pay attention to COAL, base to ogive measurement and seating depth inside the case. Since both rounds will have a slightly different ogive, you're likely to have to tweak seating depth a bit to make sure they perform equally well.
