Berger 25Cal, When did they switch?

I have some Berger 115Gr VLD hunting with a BC of .466 that I purchased last year.Orange box, pn -25513

This year I order 115Gr VLD hunting and received some with a .523 BC.yellow box pn -257115V

Both boxes say excellent for hunting , recommended for hunting.

Berger site only shows the .466 projectile.

The .523 BC bullets are approx .006" -.008" longer

Are these a new product? I assume they may be with the higher BC.

I will load them the same.

I'll say its a new product. The Berger manual only shows #25513, with the G-1 of .466. Out of curiosity, is the tip just longer, or have they moved the distance of the ogive relative to the base of the bullet?

I'll get my comparator out tonight when I get home and see where the length difference is.

On the ogive only .002" difference on the two bullets I picked.

That's a nice BC but I think I read somewhere that the Berger's weren't the most efficient for hunting.

All that proves is that you haven't read everything there is to read about Bergers. I put a couple into a moose last fall and they worked as intended.
