Any one try out this calculator.......how accurate is it?

I selected the .224 Berger 90 gr VLD

twist of 1 in 7
estimated a velocity of 2900
elevation is about 720 feet I think
temp 25 C

it says my bullet will be marginally stable and losing 3% BC

.223 rem

the 2900 was just a best case senario estimation for the 90grers, maybe 2800 would be more realistic. which would make the bullet even less stable

I got about 3000 with the 80 gr amax and 25.3 gr of varget with a 30in barrel

90 G Bergers

We shoot a lot of 90 G. Berger VLD's in F/class out to 900 metres, 30 inch barrel,1 in 7 twist/ Lapua brass, CCI BR 4 Pri. around 24 G's of Varget.and bullets jammed .015" the throat needs to be long for these bullets, speed will be around 2750 FPS. Two of these rifles were at the Canadian F/Class nationals in Ottawa this year and placed 9th and 13th out of 39 shooters some of the best in the world were in this group, so the 223 and 90 G's can work well. Be careful working your loads up.

Cheers Bill
