berger bullets

Target rifle shooters from Britain used them to clean up at worlds last year at Connaught. 155gr .308.
I use there 75gr VLD's in a 1/9 twist in 223 work very good, much better result than I had with Amax's
 
The 155.5 fullbores worked extremly well for me this year at Connaught. Used less wind than the 155 lapuas the rest of the F/F shooters were using. I'm still not sure I buy the berger line that they're good hunting bullets though...

...most guys can just seat them right into the lands of their barrels and fire good scores without any load development work......

I like the way they did that, two different colours of boxes with the same bullets in them. Same model numbers. Ones a hunting bullet, and apparently the other isn't?:confused:
 
If your looking for begers I am trying to stock them now but they are a bit slow getting them up here into canada...

I have two boxes of .308 155 VLD's left

That was only done to get the word out. They don't do that anymore apparently. My 300 WSM likes the 185grs and I might just shoot an elk with them. They perform just like they advertise "penetrate 2-3" through anything and then open up like a bomb for 10". It likely shouldn't be used for hard quartering shots by any means, but I'd use'm the same as an SST.
 
A close friend of mine took an awesome Grizzly Bear this spring with his 7mm Rem Mag, using the 180 Berger VLD. The Grizzly apparently jumped up, spun around and expired, sliding down a big slide that was covered in snow. He shot it broadside at fairly short range, and he said the lungs were complete mush. Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating the VLD for grizzly hunting, just passing on a single experience that worked. I personally would have to take a number of non-dangerous animals with the VLD before I gave a full report. For now, the Partitions & the TSX or TTSX are doing just fine. Regards, Eagleye.
 
Having shot 70 grain sierra matchkings for a few years in my 6BR in competitions, I finally got my hands on some 68 grain Bergers. I managed to pull off my best score ever.... 4 points off a perfect score. I have no reason at all to go back to anything other than Bergers. Seated into the lands and these are second to none!............;)
 
After some load development and range time, I've just loaded up 30 rds of 210gr VLD's for my P17 (30-06) and they'll definitely go hunting. I can't wait to see how these babies do!

That's because you can't buy JLK bullets in Canada. ;)

Bergers are good though. I also hear Wildcat bullets can do some interesting stuff if you are able to get a hold of him to order them...
 
The only thing with Berger is they don't like to jump due to a soft core, seat them into the rifling and there are excellent performers.

The guys at berger sent me some promotional dvd's and information and the question of can you use there bullet for hunting has been answered in my opinion and thats a big yes! I watch 30 min of shots taken from 100 to 810 yards and all where successful if your looking for precision hunting or target bullets berger has what you need
