Over the past years I acquired and sold several FN Model 1922 used by the German Police in Berlin before and during the Cold War. At that time, Berlin was occupied by Allies who had the city divided into four sectors : American, British, French and Soviet.
For most if not all, subject pistols were 7,65mm (.32). To make them available to all collectors as restricted (vs 12-6 prohibited), I substitued brand new 9mmShort (i.e. 380) FN factory barrels, which are now hard to find.
Until recently, the only 1922 pistols I could grab belonged to the American sector. I was lucky enough to find my first British sector.
Those pistols are marked on the right frame with a star (looking like a flower with 12 petals) over or above a property letter :
A for American, B for British, F for French and S for Soviet. I have not encountered F or S insofar.
For your appreciation, here are pictures of A & B.
