Best 10/22 Mags?

I have 5 factory mags for mine, I like them the best. Especially the clear ones. I have 2 brand new steel lips 25'ers, the have feeding problems, I have some old ones that work well though. I gotta break them in more I think.My gun is an older one with the Synthetic Ruger paddle stock.....or whatever people call them.

Never had good luck with the BC's. The stock BX10's are always the most reliable, but just started trying the HC3R mags - and they ROCK. Very reliable in both my 10/22's so far. Granted only a few hundred rounds through each with these mags, but 100% reliable - as long as you load them properly. Took a little getting used to, but fast and easy now.
my friend's vintage 25 year old 10/22 is utterly reliable and feeds everything except Winchester M-22.....which I tried in 3 different 10/22's and always got bent bullets and FTF's. it also works with every type of magazine.
I should have waited and looked for an older 10/22 but I like the takedown feature so I bought one of the new ones with plastic trigger group, plastic stock, plastic barrel band and MIM parts. bad mistake
I'm still waiting to get my 10/22 back from repair. if it's still a POS I'm gonna ditch it and give up on 10/22's
I hear a lot of the takedown models had problems, and Snap Shots said they will replace the bolt and it should be good. they said they replaced a lot of the new bolts that had problems. we'll see.....I've already lost my confidence in this gun
once Ruger has your money they do not like to do refunds or exchanges. I might have to take a loss since I have about $900 into this gun. mostly trying to find magazines that work, and upgrades like the bolt buffer, Kidd extractor to help the stovepiping, red dot optic, and a couple bricks of ammo trying to trouble shoot the thing
clearing jam after jam is frustrating, and having the gun blow up doesn't leave you with a confident feeling about the thing

I have Butler Creek steep lips for my 10/22 Carbine.
I get the odd feeding problems and/or misfires but I think that's down to the ammo more than anything. My 10/22 simply doesn't like the regular velocity stuff. CCI Velocitors and other high fps stuff is ideal.
The magazines do need cleaning for sure. That wax stuff the manufacturers use for rimfire production just clogs things up after awhile.

I suppose I got lucky with my 10/22 (knock wood). I went for the cheapest one they made and haven't had a single issue. Surprising, with the sheer amount of ammo that I've fired in that thing with almost zero maintenance.
If I had known that these new 10/22s had so many problems, I would have never gotten one. I think I was going off of old information when I was told they are best. I'll consider myself lucky.

I'm looking for the mag that isn't tiny,
Looking to put it in my ATI ar22 (http://www.atigunstocks.com/rifles/ruger/ruger-1022/ruger-1022-stocks/ruger-10-22-ar-22-stock-system)
, not the pictured nomad stock...does anyone know if it will fit, or any other BIG mags so it doesn't look so tiny...? My ruger 10/22 is living inside an ati ar22 kit

Have zero problems with my BC mags, but use the loader.. the stock Rugers are flawless as well ..cheapest 10/22 stainless they make
OntarioDave - you are looking for Battledyne 10/22 mags. There was a lengthy thread here on them. You will get the AR look you want, but reliability is mixed at best.

Reliability worries me, I want to use that whole clip, not go digging around for a stuck casing.....
You should be worried... Between factory 10 rounders, BC steel lips, GSG drum mags, and the HC mags, the HC mags were by FAR the most problematic in my rifle. Your mileage may vary, but I turned both of mine into skeet, rather than risk letting them end up in the hands of the unwary.
other than the obvious OEM 10 rounders, i really like my TI steel lips now that i have them adjusted properly. The little screws should be adjusted to Mirror the OEM mags..when you get them right they are just as good...well this was the case for me anyways.
Well I have no issues with the factory Ruger mag, my GSG and Black Dog (needs dummy rounds now after 2 years of heavy use) drums work fine. The HC mag annoys, the plastic MP5 style PMags work great in my 10/22 with the factory Ruger 10" Charger barrel.
Hard to say if it is a mag and barrel combination that allows for being reliable.
My 10/22 was a cheap model and it works great this is my 2nd or 3rd 10/22 over the years the rotary mag design is what makes it better than most designs.

My10/22 and my buddy's SR22, even with my poly stock and 10" factory barrel my 10/22keeps up with longer barrelled 10/22s.
Hard to say if it is a mag and barrel combination that allows for being reliable.

Well I bought the hc mag tactical kit, the one I have pictured above, I got 2/10 mis loads,stove pipes......
But it's not the mags fault, the ati ar22 kit, the mag well wasn't wide enough and the mag was cocked on an angle
I returned the stock today to cabellas, too much plastic on the chassis, I'm looking for the Nordic conversion kit
But I cannot find anyone that has them in Canada
I'll take the two piece chassis and build the rest with random ar parts, or if someone has the whole kit, I'll take .....any ideas
