Best 10x42 binoculars for around $600?

What's out there in that price range?

Clarity/sharpness of image at long distances and low light capability is what I'm especially interested in but I'm also looking for a top quality binocular at that price. I'm hoping to be in a position to purchase a set in the fall. I spent a couple of hours researching online yesterday. I read many reviews as well as the info on the Vortex, Bushnell, Zeiss, etc. sites. They all say their products are great, of course. I'd like to hear from any CGNers with hands-on experience with binoculars in this price range.

for $600, I'd look at the Nikon Monarch 7's, the Zeiss Terra HD's and perhaps the Kowa BDXD's. The Vortex Razor's are very good, but might exceed your price range by a bit with the way the dollar has fallen.

I was at a local CDN Tire over the weekend here in lower mainland, BC (Store located at Grandview HWY, close to Boundary Road) & the guy in the Sporting Goods Dept showed me a couple of new Steiner Binoculars they were selling & to say the list, I was very impressed with the clarity of the glass. The one he showed me in particular was Steiner Police 7X50.

Yes, they are great binoculars.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and feedback. Although above my price ceiling, I've purchased the Vortex Viper HD 10x42 binoculars. I already have a Vortex Viper PST scope and the Vortex Solo Tactical R/T 8x36 monocular and I'm impressed with the clarity of the glass on these two items.

Once in a while they show up with VERY good prices on Canadian Amazon site (under 250$). AMAZING clarity and quality! Warranty is also great!
They come in various sizes 8x42, 10x42 , 10x32...etc
