Best 16" carbine under $1000

Some say smoother shooting. But from what I am told one of the bigger benefit is in the lower pressure in the gas system. This leads to a longer bolt life. I learned the hard way that a Carbine gas system can mean bolt failure at approx the 5k rounds mark.

But Colts M4 are all carbine length and they sure don't have bolt failures at around 5000 rounds. Some M4s have been running 50000 rounds on the same bolt.
As far as I know, Colt actually doesn't even make a mid length system, maybe I'm wrong.

I'm leaning towards the m&p but the only thing I don't like is the missing forward assist, I know some bushmasters are around that price but I keep hearing about quality control problems with them

core 15 m4 from wanstalls is 999.99 and they have one of the best warranty's you will ever find.

This is what I tell all my non-nutty friends who are looking for a 1st AR.

Lifetime bumper to bumper warranty for the original buyer.....

$1145 and tax, shipping included from a reputable site sponsor.....

No brainier IMHO

This is a very close second,

Another reputable site sponsor.

But like I posted earlier, just a hair above your price point.....

Both are proven rifles from reputable dealers and reputable manufacturers. Both have warranty, one warranty is better, IMO , than the other.

Cheers!
