I bought a CZ Varminter last year. Tuned it with the E. Brooks kit(trigger weight is now 3oz) and put a 6-24X44 Hawke Varminter scope on it. Shoots as well as my buddy's three Anschutz rifles with their 1" barrels.
A couple of years ago..I bought a used CIL Anshutz at Pro Line for $200 and put on a 3x9x40 Bushnell and that little gun does not have a bull barrel or plastic clip ... a smooth mini bolt.. weighs about 5.5 lbs and will take out a nickle at 50yds..probably a notch better than most CZs which cost more than the average gun.
CZ varminter, I have one and it shoots every bit as well as a Winchester 52B that I owned for 5 years and was never really impressed with. The amazing one is my ruger 10\22 all tricked out, it shoots like a poor man's outhouse, a one holer...LOL
I vote for CZ or bruno. I have a bruno model 2 1980. Peeps sites and it is a tack driver. My wife has claimed it as she can't shoot the 10-22 with a scope at all but the bruno she can hit a bottle cap at 50 no problems. But if you want a semi I have no idea as nothing compares to the bruno for accuracy.
I was kinda hoping somebody would throw the remmy 597 in, seeing as I just ordered one!
As for bolt actions, I've got a cooey 600 that I've had since I was a kid. It's got untold amount of rounds through it, I can hit a pop can at 100 yrds (iron sites), and it cycles like a gem.
Huh. I thought I posted here. Guess not. If your willing to spend the cash, I would vote T-22. It just feels like a rifle. My other one that's a good shooter, and priced alot better is a Savage MKII.
