Best .22 Lever Gun?

I have a Ruger 96/22 and bought it for the ease of reloading, try and get 25 rounds in any of those tube magazines. It will go to my grand-daughter when she's old enough to legally own it. Right now it sports a 4x scope over William's Firesights and groups every bit as well as my 10/22.
I have to admit I agree with the poster that talks about his pump 02 rifle,while I love my Marlin 410's and .22lr.
The Winchester mod 1890 (mine is in .22WRF) as well as the 02 just are light weight and so great in balance! They carry just great through the woods,your carry hand just fits between the reciever and the pump handle like it is an extension of your hand!
But for lever's get a 39- or 39-A! You will love your investment!
And it will last the test(time)!

Best trade I ever made in my life was for a new Winchester model 61 pump. I also have a Rem. 870 Trap and a Rem. mod. 760. PUMP GUNS RULE!

Most likely the browning of the 4 listed, but the 9422 is very well balanced, and function is awesome. Accuracy is also great for a lever rifle.

I saw a guns'n'ammo test of the .22 leverguns...
They voted the .22 Henry Goldenboy #1, even named it gun of the year, and I think that was the only rimfire to ever earn that distinction.
So Henry definitely has the test results that make it's levers the best, and is the only company that doesn't make levers as a sideline, but as the backbone of their business.
Winchester has the brandname to back it up, but they have problems with the levers, danger being one of them, "two screws with the same thread size, and these screws can be accidentally switched around. When this happens, the critical shell flag on the right side of the carrier will not operate"
Some sort of design flaw that makes their levers dangerous.

Marlin 39 has sold more levers than ANY other model, and since people love the gun they shoot, even if it isnt' the best gun on paper, you'll get loyal customers piping up about that one...because they've sold SO damn many of them.

I just bought a Henry standard model and am taking it out to sight it in this afternoon. It is wonderfully small and fast to work the action and I love the style and the wood is really nice. The only thing I dont like so far is the barrel band is made of plastic. I would have bought the Golden Boy but I wanted a short rifle.
Wellll I guess we will see how accurate it is with my 3-9x32mm AO Bushnell scope. It looks kind of wierd with such a big scope on such a small rifle. Im going to try Stingers, Velocitors, Rem Subs, CCI Subsonic, CCI Blazer, Fed American Eagle Hps and Solids, CB longs and Yellowjackets.

Just got back from scoping in my new Henry and these are my impressions.
The trigger is light but a little rough and stagey, definitly not as good as my Handi-Rifle. Still the trigger is pretty good.
I need a hammer extension as theres no room between it and the scope for my thumb.
I needed a accurate scoped .22 so I put a 3-9x32 AO on it but It handled so much better with Iron sights so maybe Ill tone it down to a 4x.
It is pretty accurate but kinda finicky, I shot 5rd groups at 20yds.
The Federal American Eagle Solids and HPs were pretty crappy only getting about 1.75" at 20yds. sometimes a little better sometimes worse
The Rem Subsonics all stayed in an inch.
CCI CB longs all stayed in an Inch.
CCI Subsonics grouped about an inch, Stingers about 3/4"
Velocitors were a great surprise as one group of 4 was a one hole group,
the average group size was 1/2"I think thats about as good as I can do. The Velocitors were really consistent and I got 4 great groups with them, if only they werent so expensive!!!
All in all Im impressed with the rifle and cant wait to draw blood...

Hmm.....I'm sorry, 21 out of 57 long-guns offered on their website are levers.
That does represent a significant #, and although it isn't the majority of their offerings as I believe it to be with Henry, you do have a point.

The Marlin is nice, but I tend to grab my Ithaca Model 72 Saddlegun .22 lever more than anything when I feel the urge to shoot gophers with a lever.

for my money i went with the henry, i originally sold my winchesters because my 14 year old son was going to be wanting to shoot my .22 wins and i didnt want him wrecking them, the henry was a cheap way out...then the strangest thing of all happened........the little gun performed remarkably well and would feed anything, thousands upon thousands of rounds have been shot through my henry by my not so gentle son, it is an awesome gun, i now have a second for myself. BTW they came with a plastic front sight and barrel band, i emailed the president of henry and told him how cheap that was for a new gun and he promptly put two new metal sets in the mailshelby said:I am jonesing for a new plinker to shoot cans and stuff.
What is the best value in a .22LR lever gun? The criteria: (i) must be of good quality with exc. fit & finish and smooth operation; (ii) must shoot .22 S/L/LR ammo, so tube feeding is a must; (iii) must not be too large (max. barrel length 20"); and (iv) must cost under $600 new.
I have my eye on the four posted in the poll. I like the short throw lever and light weight of the BL-22. On the other hand, the smoooooth lever action, great customer service and low prices of the Henry guns have me intrigued. Then again, the Winchester looks beautiful and is an instant classic now that it's been discontinued.
***It appears the Marlin 39 should added to poll by popular demand, but I can't sem to figure out how the heck to do it

I don't doubt at all the the Henry is a perfectly good rifle but you'd never have to ask that from the others because they have never put plastic parts on their rifles like what you have mentioned with the Henry.
