Best .22 pistol, your thoughts?

The CZ Kadet is the only semi that I have witnessed that is capable of shooting any type of 22 ammo without issue. It does so accurately and faithfully. I have loaded 52 different rounds in 6 mags and shot them back to back without any malfunctions. Very few 22 semi's will give this type of reliable performance. I sold my Walther's, ruger's smith revolvers and even sig p210-7 and kept the Kadet. It is in my opinion and experience the best 22 semi on the market.

GSG 1911 is a lot of fun to shoot, mine is very reliable any stoppages are usually due to duds. I especially like that I can still feel a little recoil when I shoot it, that's why I find heavy .22 pistols boring.

I also just brought a single action revolver with .22LR and Mag cylinders. Had one before and enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm a semi guy all the way but there's just something about single action revolver in .22 :D

S&W model 17 or any of the blued six shot K frame .22 revolvers.

Their build quality is superb, they are very accurate, reliable, have DA/SA triggers that are better than anything else currently being made, will appreciate in value and for the price ($600-$750 for VG or better) are very affordable.

Being built on full K frames means that you will not shoot one out unless it is abused so you can buy them used with confidence.

Finally, S&W K frames are easy to have serviced and to find parts and grips for.

They are shootable collectables.

They are also beautiful and elegant.

I have a 22 Kadet. It has been superb for me. Pretty accurate for me but I have not shot any other 22 pistols. I can put the slide onto my CZ shadow if I desire. So far it has shot well with every brand of 22 ammo I have run through it. No chance I would ever sell it.

100% agree about HS or 41 but I shoot mine with standard velocity only-would be a pity to brake a frame.Beretta 87-I am looking for one reasonably priced for 2 years now..
As OP wants a gun that could be shot with any ammo - Ruger or Browning - way to go.Reliable and not expensive.
Brand new about 400$

I have minimal experience with a m&p22, I quite like it, but I don't have extensive experience with it. So far I love it. One caveat, NO ONE HAS MAGS FOR IT.

i have most of what is listed above.
for plinking any will do.
i havnt had any problems with any of them.

youd probably want to maybe narrow your search by comfort and in hand fit.
