Best .22 pistol

i will second the m-93 i really like it. It's the 1st norc i've had that i haven't sold after putting less than a 100 rounds through it. I'm not a norc hater i've had several, but none i've liked until this little guy.
 
if you really want the best try and find a Sig p210-7, it will be a fun to shoot and will continue to appreciate, mind you $7500 is what you will need to pay for one in rough shape but still shoots, if you want bone straight accuracy for a great price, then the ruger Mark III heavy barrel, wheel guns, hard to beat the S&W 617 ten shot or the k22 6 shot, again it is increasing in value. All the above are accurate, and easy to resell and you won't loose nearly a penny if you ever decide to sell and replace with something else. Otherwise plenty of choices, none are bad, except maybe some that tend to fail on occasion.
 
Here's my 2 cents....
Get a center fire HG with a .22lr conversion kit. Your son can shoot the .22lr now before he grows out of it. When he does, he will have a familiar platform to shoot center fire. You, on the other hand can enjoy the "big boy" bullets.
May I suggest a Glock 17 with an Advantage Arms .22lr conversion kit...and it's got nothing to do with the fact I went this route;)

I had my mind set on the Buckmark for silhouette shooting. I had the opportunity to shoot both the Buckmark and S&W A22 simulaneously. I picked the S&W with a 7" barrel. The Buckmark is a fine pistol, but the magazine release is a two handed affair, the S&W felt better in my hands and it also comes with the integral weaver style rail for mounting something like a red dot. I find this to be a good option for picking which ammo will shoot best out of the pistol and removing the human factor when picking ammo.
 
buckmarks are fine pistols, very accurate and comfy shooting. But the question was about the best pistol and everything else fades away once you handle one modern Real Target Pistol. What friggin Neos? Buckmarks? Smith and Wesson, 1911 or Glock conversions - gimme a break. Hammerly's and Walther SSP's only please. Most folks never had a chance to use them, hence can't suggest it, them simply doon't know. Nothing wrong with that either, life's so simple when you don't know.
 
Two quick question...

1) Best for what? Bullseye or plinking

2) Best within what budget?

The MCM Margolin is a great bullseye gun for under $300

I had a conversation with a friend regarding the old Walther GSP and asked him for his opinion. He brought to light the GSP came with spare parts (wow) You know a Ruger Mk anything does not need any spare parts at all. I have no opinion on the Walther SSP.

GSP comes with spare parts... because owners of GSP's are expected to shoot thousand's and thousands or rounds...

And GSP owners are expected to participate in official sanctioned competition...

And GSP owners are aware that you if you have an allibi in a competition, and if you cannot repair your pistol there and then... you are disqualified.

...

That's why Walther/Morini/Pardini/Feinwerkbau/TOZ all includes spare parts with their pistols.
